Warner Bros. Issues Statement on The Dark Knight Rises Tragedy, Cancels Paris Premiere » Gossip - We have a few updates on this morning's horrific shooting in Colorado at the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises.

Warner Bros. has canceled a red carpet premiere event scheduled for Paris this evening and released the following statement:

"Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."



Dark Knight Rises Shooting: 911 Calls


Secondly, numerous 911 calls from the scene of the tragedy have been released. Many are played/heard in the video above. Warning: they are disturbing in nature.

The NYPD has also released a statement in anticipation of screenings of The Dark Knight Rises across the Big Apple today. It reads:

"As a precaution against copycats and to raise the comfort levels among movie patrons in the wake of the horrendous shooting in Colorado, the New York City Police Department is providing coverage at theaters where the 'The Dark Knight Rises' is playing in the five boroughs."

As previously reported, a 24-year old names James Holmes is in custody and suspected of opening fire on a theater full of attendees after initially setting off a smoke bomb. At least 12 people are considered dead and 50 wounded.
